Viruses associated with Varroa mites have spilled over into other species

A team led by entomologists at the University of California, Riverside (UCR), have performed a study in Hawaii, and found viruses associated with the mite have spilled over into the western yellowjacket, (European wasps), a honey bee predator and honey raider.
